Numerous studies point to the fact that both power output and perceived exertion, during exercise, vary throughout the day. The general consensus is that depending on the type of training (cardiovascular vs. strength), when one exercises can have a profound effect on performance. For athletes, when to train can be a significant variable. However, for the average Personal Training client, training schedules are more associated with convenience. Our goal, as trainers, should be to assist clients with the development and maintenance of a schedule that works within their established lifestyles, thereby helping with exercise adherence- a definite plus!
